First-for-India: Arms maker SSS Defence debuts at Milipol Paris expo
The expo is being held till November 25

What’s the story

Bengaluru-based SSS Defence is making waves by debuting at the Milipol Paris 2025, a premier expo focused on global homeland security and safety. This significant event is set to run until November 25 in the vibrant French capital. What sets this occasion apart is that it marks a historic milestone for Indian defense manufacturing, as SSS Defence showcases its indigenously crafted weaponry on an international platform.

CEO Highlights Significance of Their Participation

Vivek Krishnan, the CEO of SSS Defence, expressed immense pride in the company’s unique position. He stated, “Proud to be the first #BorninBharat infantry systems company displaying our fully indigenous systems in a premier foreign military & law enforcement expo.” His words encapsulate the essence of their participation, emphasizing its significance as a success story of the #MakeInIndia initiative and hinting at the vast potential for Indian defense exports in the global market.

SSS Defence’s Mission and Product Range

Founded in 2017, SSS Defence is on a mission to enhance India’s manufacturing capabilities by developing equipment tailored to meet the operational demands of both armed forces and law enforcement agencies. Their product catalog is impressive, encompassing a diverse range of arms, including sniper rifles, assault rifles, pistols, and sub-machine guns. Additionally, they are planning to innovate with a remote-controlled weapon station. A notable expansion includes an ammunition production facility that was launched in 2024, further cementing their commitment to local manufacturing.

SSS Defence’s Sniper Rifles: A Cut Above the Rest

Among the various arms on offer, the sniper rifles from SSS Defence truly stand out. Available in two powerful calibers—7.62x51mm NATO and .338 Lapua Magnum—these rifles are engineered for long-distance accuracy. The .338 variant, in particular, is regarded as a top-tier caliber capable of hitting targets from an impressive distance of nearly 1.5 kilometers, according to The Week. This level of precision underlines SSS Defence’s commitment to producing high-quality, reliable weaponry for modern warfare.
