In 2024, NP Aerospace made a significant strategic move by acquiring the intellectual property (IP) for a groundbreaking armored vehicle, along with various assets from Jankel Armouring Limited, which had entered Administration. This acquisition marked the beginning of a new era for NP Aerospace, a company well-regarded for its vehicle engineering, integration, production, and supply chain expertise. With its acclaimed skill set, NP Aerospace embarked on a journey to refine and advance this vehicle, ultimately reaching an important production milestone.
In October 2025, NP Aerospace proudly unveiled its LC300 product, a notably enhanced and upgraded platform. This was not a mere aesthetic overhaul; it represented the culmination of a rigorous design and development process. Having recently completed Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP), NP Aerospace was set to enter its full-rate production program starting January 2026. Anticipating strong demand, the company projected producing over 100 LC300 vehicles in the forthcoming 12-18 months. This announcement harmonically coincided with the prestigious International Armoured Vehicles (IAV) Conference held in Farnborough from January 20-22, 2026, where NP Aerospace showcased its latest innovations.
The LC300 is making waves in the defense sector, offering unrivaled levels of protection, functionality, and reliability. Years of user feedback have shaped its design, making it particularly appealing to various global defense ministries and non-government organizations (NGOs). The vehicle has been rigorously tested and qualified against the latest Edition 3 of the international VPAM BRV and ERV (VR7) standards, in addition to PAS 300 ballistic and blast criteria. This stringent certification not only underscores NP Aerospace’s commitment to safety but also ensures that the LC300 remains road-legal for NATO and European-based NGO clients, maximizing its export potential.
The LC300 claims an impressive distinction as the first vehicle certified to the VPAM VR7 BRV and ERV standards, featuring capability against a 2-meter side blast with a fully equipped third row of seats. This certification process utilized biofidelic dummies to offer a more accurate understanding of the impacts on vehicle occupants, thereby enhancing the vehicle’s safety profile.
Beyond manufacturing entire armored vehicles like the LC300, NP Aerospace provides specialized services such as add-on or “applique” armor systems. These integrated armor solutions include internal spall liners, external appliqué, and customized seating systems, designed to counteract a myriad of ballistic and blast threats. NP Aerospace’s survivability services extend across various OEMs and geographies, serving the needs of civilian armored vehicles, logistics, utility vehicles, and full armored fighting systems. The company has secured a reputation as the go-to armoring partner for several prime contractors globally, facilitating customized solutions that cater to unique operational challenges.
In May 2025, NP Aerospace announced a notable contract for Armoured Personnel Transport Modules (APTM), delivered through Marshall Canada, to the Canadian Logistic Vehicle Modernization Programme (LVM). This engagement underscores NP Aerospace’s pivotal role in the global armoring landscape, with additional contracts in the pipeline, further solidifying their status as the preferred survivability partner.
David Petheram, Managing Director and Senior Vice President of NP Aerospace Vehicle Systems, Services, and Spares, articulated the company’s commitment to excellence: “We’ve worked very hard to ensure our newly upgraded armoured LC300 is suitably prepared in all regards to enter full-rate production this month. Specifically, our integration, production, and supply chain skill sets have been applied to this project to optimize the benefits to the procurer, the fleet manager, and the user. What we now have is an excellent platform when viewed from all perspectives, and we’re pleased to be able to offer it to global markets. The Civilian Armoured Vehicle (CAV) market offers great growth potential and is a significant area of focus for us as we continue to expand our team.”
