ZenaTech’s Ambitious Expansion Plans: A New Era for Drone Manufacturing in the U.S.

Vancouver, British Columbia, (July 15, 2025) — Exciting news is flying out of Vancouver as ZenaTech, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZENA) (FSE: 49Q) (BMV: ZENA), a leader in business technology solutions, has announced that it will significantly expand its facilities in Phoenix, Arizona. This expansion, which will triple the existing square footage, represents a pivotal moment for U.S. drone manufacturing, assembly, and testing.

A Transformative Landscape

ZenaTech’s maiden announcement comes in the wake of groundbreaking policy changes spearheaded by the White House and the Department of Defense, alongside the passage of the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill.’ This legislation offers a range of benefits that include federal funding for domestic production and the removal of outdated certification and procurement barriers—ultimately allowing for faster deployment directly to frontline military units without the need for Blue or Green UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems) certification.

This shift in policy is more than just bureaucratic efficiency; it represents a national commitment to empowering American drone companies, particularly those focused on developing affordable Group 1 and 2 drone systems for military applications. The urgency of this endeavor signals a concerted effort to outpace adversaries in the global drone landscape.

A Visionary Approach

Dr. Shaun Passley, CEO of ZenaTech, described these developments as a "historic turning point." He emphasized that the regulatory changes have ignited a surge of confidence in the company, motivating them to undertake substantial facility expansion sooner than planned. By eliminating red tape and unlocking funding, ZenaTech is poised to innovate and scale production to meet urgent defense needs efficiently.

Growth Plans and Workforce Expansion

The company is actively searching for a larger facility that would allow for comprehensive drone manufacturing processes, including production and assembly. ZenaTech currently operates with a small, dedicated team of seven in Phoenix but plans to expand this workforce to as many as 30 personnel within the next six to twelve months. This increase reflects not only ZenaTech’s growth ambitions but also the anticipated surge in demand for advanced drone technologies.

Advanced Drone Solutions

ZenaTech aims to develop a robust portfolio of drone offerings that will cater to both defense and commercial sectors. Highlighted products include:

  • ZenaDrone 1000: A versatile medium-sized drone equipped with Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) capabilities. Boasting an AI-enabled autonomy, secure communication via the proprietary DroneNet system, and rugged design, it’s perfect for both commercial and defense applications, including surveillance and cargo delivery.

  • IQ Square: Designed for line-of-sight operations, this drone is engineered for land surveys and various inspections, making it suitable for both commercial and military uses.

  • IQ Nano: A compact, indoor drone tailored for environments like warehouses where GPS signals may be weak. This drone incorporates advanced obstacle avoidance technology and can integrate into AI-driven fleets.

Moreover, ZenaTech offers a Drone as a Service (DaaS) model, which allows government and defense entities, as well as commercial businesses, to benefit from bundled drone operations. This includes everything from hardware and software to trained pilots and maintenance, all rolled into a subscription service that provides flexibility and scalability.

About ZenaTech

ZenaTech, a proud technology innovator since its establishment in 2017, specializes in AI drones, Drone as a Service, and Quantum Computing solutions. The company has made significant strides in growing its drone design and manufacturing capabilities focused on enhancing operational efficiencies across various sectors including agriculture and logistics, defense, and industrial surveillance.

The firm operates globally, with offices in North America, Europe, Taiwan, and the UAE, focusing on expanding its DaaS offerings within the U.S. marketplace.

About ZenaDrone

A wholly owned subsidiary of ZenaTech, ZenaDrone is at the forefront of shaping the future of autonomous drone technology. Originally aimed at revolutionizing the hemp farming sector, its expertise has expanded to encompass multifunctional drone solutions for a wide array of applications, including industrial surveillance and defense.

With a suite of innovative drones like the ZenaDrone 1000 and the IQ Nano, the company is making waves in multiple industries, further solidified by their ongoing partnerships and trials with entities like the U.S. Air Force.

Looking Ahead

ZenaTech’s ambitious plans for expansion exhibit a keen awareness of the burgeoning demand for drone technology in a rapidly changing environment. As U.S. policy supports increased manufacturing capabilities and quicker market access, companies like ZenaTech are uniquely positioned to lead the charge in this strategic industry, enhancing national security and commercial efficiencies alike.
